Dec - what?  Relax, you've got this.  Our name is nothing more than a combination of the words DECK + ACCESSORIES.  When you put the words together, you get "De-ccessories", a company focused on providing new products to the deck industry with a bit of irreverence.

Deccessories is nothing more than a home-brewed concoction comprised of equal parts ingenuity, impatience, frustration, determination, boredom, and a desire to have fun.  If you mix all of those ingredients and shake violently, something’s bound to happen!  It may not always look good (and it may taste even worse), but every now and then, the concoction comes out “just right”.

Deccessories is our attempt to infuse the decking industry with a bit of a Tabasco kick.

At Deccessories, every idea gets a fair shake.  We thoroughly explore and iterate on all of the ideas that come across our whiteboard.  Oftentimes, crazy ideas lead to innovations in more moderate concepts.  So, we strive to throw every idea at the wall and do what we can to make them stick.  The unifying theme for all of our concepts and products is to bring a refreshing new approach to some aspect of the decking industry - from tools, to software, to standalone consumer products.

Scroll through our offerings below and let us know what you think or if there are other products that you think we might should work on bringing to market.

If your wife is anything like mine, she thinks that dewy grass in the backyard is a highly toxic substance.  No way will she step off of the deck into the backyard unless the grass is completely dry and someone else has gone first to ward off any attacks from wild animals lurking in the 1” tall freshly manicured lawn.  Fret no more.  Now you can kill two birds with one (Decking) Stone – she can safely traverse the perils of the backyard AND she can admire the fact that the stepping stones are a direct match in color and material to the deck that she spent so much time picking out and designing.  The Decking Stone is a great addition to any decked outdoor environment.  The polypropylene frame securely holds the decking of your choice in place.  The 1/8” spacing throughout the framework gives the Decking Stone the appearance of a traditionally spaced deck while adding a structural ribbing that gives even your wife a sense of confidence when making the mad dash across the backyard.  Grab some Decking Stone frames, cut up some of that scrap decking you’ve got laying around and turn your backyard into an aesthetically pleasing safe haven for your wife’s sensitive feet.

The Chadirondack (half chaise, half adirondack) is the product that launched Deccessories.  After fielding calls regularly from clients whose furniture blew off their dock and into the water during violent thunderstorms, we knew there had to be a better solution than using unsightly bungee cords to strap furniture down.   The Chadirondack was our solution.  Far more comfortable than stretching a towel out on the surface of the deck, the Chadirondack allows for an adjustable seating surface that collapses beneath deck level when not in use.  With a quick tug on a strap, the knee joint locks into place, requiring only the lifting of the back support to complete the “setup”.  After you’ve spent the afternoon relaxing in the seat, closing of the Chadirondack is just as easy.  When stowed, the Chadirondack is flush and nearly invisible, allowing for people to walk on top of the seat, set up other furniture on top of the seat, or, simply convert the area into an impromptu dance floor (we know how you like to throw those wild all-night parties!).  Installation of the kit is quick and painless, requiring minimal tools and materials.  The real bonus comes from the fact that the deck surface used for the Chadirondack will always be an exact match, as the existing deck surface is cut and used as a part of the Chadirondack assembly – no noticeable differences in grain pattern, no noticeable coloring differences.  Truly, a seamless match.  Because the system is designed for scalability, the spacing you use between deck boards is not a concern.  The installation is the same whether you installed the deck with 1/8” spacing or ½” spacing.  Additionally, the kit can be used to create smaller chairs for children or larger chairs for those of us who may be “big and tall”.

The Chadirondack is the first available product from our line of “Deckformers” – a whole series of products that collapse beneath the surface of the deck. Be on the lookout for new offerings over the course of the next few months.

Give the Chadirondack a try – be forewarned, once you sit down, you won’t want to get up.  Plan on sitting and staying a while!

You’ve toiled away at getting the footers poured and the substructure framing perfectly level and rock solid.  Now you’re on to the easy part – laying the decking.  Then you remember that you’ve got to strap on your kneepads because you’ll be spacing and screwing down the decking on your hands and knees.  You must be getting old.  How could you forget about the pair of Stomp Strips you’ve got stashed in your toolbox?  The day just got a lot brighter.

You can’t spell “deck spacing” without “ache”.  Well, actually you can, but “acke” doesn’t have the same ring.  At any rate, spacing deck boards is a mind numbing and tedious task that shouldn’t be wished on anyone.  We’ve got an idea – stop spacing deck boards in a mind numbingly tedious fashion!  Buy yourself a pair of Stomp Strips.  The Stomp Strip is a decking installer’s best friend.  This patent pending strap allows for decking to be spaced from an upright position, giving your poor back some much needed time off.  The strap comes in both 1/8” and ¼” spacing varieties and in lengths of 12’ (15’ overall).  Simply step on the tail of the strap, insert the first tab adjacent to the first deck board, then kick the next board up against the spacer.  Feed the next tab down beside the second deck board and slide the third board into place.  Rinse and repeat.  Oh, and don’t worry about the straps becoming dislodged or misaligned – once they’re in, your spacing is set.  Just come behind and screw down the decking.  When the fastening is done, a quick tug of the Stomp Strip strap and the strip is removed from decking without a worry.  This thing is so easy to use, we should probably look into a 30 minute late-night infomercial, but that’s not our style – we’re much more humble and sincere…

Get a pair of Stomp Strips.  They’ll take up no room in your toolbox, and, heck, if you don’t like them for spacing deck boards (which we know you will), they still work great for securing that deer you hit on the way home from the job to the bed of the truck.
